news

March 2020
I have been really amiss about reporting news recently due to work constraints! I will endeavour to update all soon.

Jan 2017 - November 2017
Our year started off on the 1st January (Yip! New Year's Day) with Pearl being artificially inseminated with the frozen semen that we imported from the fabulous Ch (USA) Ridgewyn Legacy (Lars). She produced a gorgeous singleton liver & white male puppy (Tanjo War Lord aka Chrys) on the 5 March.
Luke kicked off the 2017 show year in great style when he was invited to attend the Supa 7s Spectacular as one of the Top 7 dogs for the year as well as one of the top veteran winners. He showed fantastically well, but was unfortunately unplaced.
Luke won Best Veteran in Show at his first show of the year. His second show for the year in the Veteran class saw Frank Kane (UK) officiating for the final awards and he placed Luke Reserve Best Veteran in Show. This was really an exceptional win and I was very proud of Luke! Luke followed this with a Best Veteran in Show at the Uitenhage KC champ show in Port Elizabeth. Luke had many other group placings during the year. He also won Reserve BIS at the Hochland Dog Club in Windhoek.
He was also once again awarded in May the National English Springer Spaniel title as well as the new ZAR'17 winners title which qualified him to show at Crufts 2018!
Luke easily managed enough points to be a Grand Champion, the first Springer to be awarded this title in South Africa.
Chrys hit the show scene in July, and at just 4 months of age won Best Baby Puppy in Show. Following on from this he had two more shows and was Best Puppy in Show at both shows. We expect great things from this youngster!
In September, Luke was also awarded the Canine Good Citizen (Bronze) award, for which I was really proud. He has beauty and brains!!

July 2016 - December 2016
Luke moved occasionally into the Veteran Class once he turned 7 years old on the 1 August 2016. Its's hard to believe that he is 7 already!! He has been the most fantastic showdog. Luke had a few more Group placements at Northern Natal KC under Liz Ballington, a Group 1st, and Group 2nd's under Rochelle Ehrich, Carine Buitendach, Stafford Baker, Percy Green, Johnny Marques and Natalyia Vzyshnevska. There were also numerous other group placings along the way. Luke hit the Veteran classes with a bang, where he was selectively shown, winning 13 Veteran Groups and 3 Best Veteran in Show awards and 4 Reserve BVIS. Luke finished off the year as the Western Cape Top Dog Gundog Group winner under Bruce Jenkins. This was his second Top Dog Gundog Group winner award.
Not to be out done Storm won the group at both the Overberg KC (Judge Liz Raubenheimer) and the Kennel Association (Judge Dale Fabian)

Luke once again ended the year in the Top 100 dogs and was placed 31st all breeds.
